A TWO-wheel-drive all-terrain-vehicle (ATV) built especially for small farm operators is proving its worth for Victorian lifestyle farmers, Peter and Anthea McCarthy, on their 16-hectare property at Faraday, near Bendigo.
In December last year they purchased a Polaris Hawkeye 300 ATV.
The Hawkeye comes with a 299cc four-stroke engine and a towing capacity of 340kg, which prompted the McCarthys to buy a small trailer to handle jobs around the property.
They have a hobby olive grove of 750 trees and use the Polaris at harvest to transport the boxes of olives in the trailer.
They also use the ATV to check their flock of Wiltshire sheep and feed out oats.
Until the end of the year Polaris is offering ‘American End of Year Deals’ on the ATV range.
The Hawkeye 300’s big brother, the Hawkeye 400, has had its usual price reduced by $500, plus purchasers will also have a choice of $500 worth of free accessories.
